The School Policy is that all children should wear school uniform. 

Children wearing school uniform links with behaviour, discipline and positive attitudes towards school and learning. 


Other benefits of school uniform are:

  • Increase pupils' self-esteem 
  • Improve learning by reducing distraction, sharpening focus on schoolwork and making the classroom a more serious, professional environment.
  • Promote a sense of teamwork and increase school spirit.
  • Improve behaviour and increase school attendance. 
  • Save families time and money. 
  • Help staff to quickly identify outsiders who could be a danger to students both in and out of school time and activities.
  • Ensure children are more visible on school trips.


The uniform consists of: 

  • Sweatshirt/cardigan with school badge (available from school) or sweatshirt/cardigan/jumper in plain dark green.
  • Plain white polo shirt, shirt or blouse.
  • Trousers/tailored shorts/skirts  in black (no logos or stripes). 
  • Summer dresses may be worn - either green/white striped or green/white checked. 
  • Green book bag and PE bag with logo (available from school) or other suitable book bag or PE bag.
  • PE kit consists of T-shirt – white - Navy or black shorts– not beach – plain Plimsolls or trainers. Navy or black tracksuit bottoms and a warm plain top may also be worn during winter months. School PE is available to buy.
  • Swimming trunks for boys (shorts not acceptable at pool for health and safety reasons), one piece swimming costume for girls. 
  • No jewellery except one pair of stud earrings may be worn in school, which must be removed by children for all physical activities. Children are advised to refrain from having ear pierced during school terms, due to the inconvenience caused by not be able to remove them.
  • Nail varnish, make-up, hair gel, hair colours or braids, should not be worn in school. 
  • In the Summer Term, children may wear a sun hat to protect them from the sun. These can be purchased from the school.
Please note, Jo Jo bows are not allowed to be worn.
